I am a PhD student studying the history of the modern Middle East. My research focuses on memory, capitalism, and the formation of political subjectivity in North Africa, and more specifically in rural Tunisia. I examine how processes of memory formation are etched into patterns of entwined economic processes of dispossession and exploitation and relative social relations of power.
